Sorry to say I don't think you can get there from here, at least not directly. The backup you're doing is equilivent to doing a SAVSTG on an iSeries -- great for disaster recover (maybe) but not much else. If you know which storage group the directory is in you should be able to restore that group and attach it to the server then copy over the directory. I would recommend using an NT-aware backup program if you're looking for anything more than disaster-recovery backup. Doesn't IBM extend the backup app in NT to allow it to "see" the iSeries tape?
