Depending on what version of OS/400 you are running, you can have a large 
number of triggers associated with a file.  Any chance you did the 
ADDPFTRG multiple times?
DSPFD and search for "Number of triggers".

Failing that, you don't try to change the record by reading it from the 
file, do you?  If so, I recommend you use the trigger buffer.  Wait - 
that's on a write or update.
Are you modifying the record to store a "last read timestamp"?  Because if 
you are, and the trigger reads the record to update it, that could be some 
interesting loop.

After Read trigger fires multiple times






I have a trigger on a file, set to execute on an after read operation.

For some reason, the trigger fires three times for a read operation. 

In my debugging (using DBU to view a record), the trigger program is being 

called three times. I've queried the file and it shows that the record 
exists only once in the file.

Anyone with any input as to cause or why this is happening?
