I'll have to beg to differ here. Normally all the PTF's could be in one
Image Catalog, but for an upgrade you want to use two.

After the O/S install you are still on the A side of the system. At
this point you want to install the Cume and IPL to the B side. Then,
after the INZSYS completes, you should apply Group PTFs and IPL again.
For many years I had installed the Cume and the groups together, but a
couple of years back it bit me. Some MF PTF's needed to be perm applied
before O/S PTF's could go on or something like that. Then the
prerequisite chain failed and the whole package failed to apply. It
took two or three additional IPLs to fix....

Of course I got the requisite dressing down from SupportLine ("Didn't
you read the Read This First and Memo To Users?")

What I say here may not apply to upgrades, so please bear with me. I
don't think you should segregate all the different PTF things. You have
a CUME and GROUPS, etc. Just make a single image catalog, put all the
CUMEs, group PTFs, and individual things you order in there. Then take
the Verify option for *PTFs and let it straighten itself out. Then you
are good to go home, once it starts.
