I'm at a customer site and jsut had this conversation with my customer over 
lunch.  If it makes you feel better, go ahead and IPL, but the iSeries really 
doesn't care.  Aside from emptying out library QRPLOBJ (which you can do 
manually), I can't think of any important task that an IPL does.

So again, if it makes you feel better, then go ahead, but the machine doesn't 
much
 care.
