I don't think DDS will allow this. This could be done part-way in SQL, by
creating a view that transforms the data to your new format. However, the
resulting LF will not have a key, so using this directly in an RPG
application may not be realistic. Embedded SQL would probably be the most
robust choice for this sort of thing.

Subject: Creating Fields in a Logical Using SST and CONCAT

Can someone help me out? Is my syntax correct or is this impossible?

ACAKCD, ACALCD and ACAMCD all exist in the physical, the rest I'm trying to
create in
this logical file.

0022.00 A C3SAPN I CONCAT(C3AKCD C3ALCD
C3AMCD)
0023.00 A COLHDG('Assessors
Parcel' 'Numbe
0024.00 A TEXT('Assessors Parcel
Number')
0025.00 A C3AKCD I SST(ACAKCD 1 3)

0026.00 A C3ALCD I SST(ACALCD 1 3)

0027.00 A C3AMCD I SST(ACAMCD 1 3)

0028.00 A K C3SAPN
