Can someone help me out? Is my syntax correct or is this impossible?

DDS documentation says "Specify the physical file field names in the order you want them to be concatenated..."

DDS compiler sends CPD7926 "Field not found" for which the second-level text says "The indicated field name must be the name of a field either in one of the physical files specified on the JFILE keyword or in all of the physical files specified on the PFILE keyword."

Note the use of the word 'physical file'.

You could do:

 A C3AKCD I SST(ACAKCD 1 3)
 A C3ALCD I SST(ACALCD 1 3)
 A C3AMCD I SST(ACAMCD 1 3)
 A K C3AKCD
 A K C3AKLD
 A K C3AKMD

and use a data structure in your host program to map these three fields into contiguous storage. That would accomplish what you want--unless you need the concatenated data in the file for use by some query tool in which case you'll need a different approach. The query tool should be capable of performing the concatenation at run-time anyway.

Simon Coulter.
