Websm can be used for most of the HMC tasks.
If you need all the HMC tasks, you can use Client Access 5250 emulation
to the HMC and have all the functions on your PC

For operator like work you don't need (want to) use the HMC but a simple
telnet400, Client Access or Linux telnet5250 session to the iSeries in
question and do everything except Restricted state work (which is not an
operator job)

In V5R3 BRMS you can do full restricted backup without a console (in
batch)

Can you use the HMC console and other console(s) as well? We want the
tech
staff to get at the HMC console remotely if needed, but would like the
operators (who need a console) not to touch the HMC.

Can we set up Ops Console and still have HMC acting as the console when
needed?
