As a follow-on question, do vendors need to be concerned about JVM backward compatibility? We'd like to install the TN5250J applet (an open source product), at customer sites. Should we expect to receive many support calls from users regarding JVM compatibility, and in particular with respect to future JVM levels supporting a current product? Thanks, Nathan. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mark Phippard Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2005 1:11 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Which JVM? midrange-l-bounces+markp=softlanding.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on midrange-l-bounces+01/13/2005 03:05:51 PM: > I was having an issue with Fix Central. Java 1.4.2_06 includes a fairly significant security fix, so I would not remove it. I would probably uninstall all 3, and then reinstall the most recent.
