Would they consider an allocation based upon mutual agreement of value
received instead of by disk/time/users?  It would worry me that department
managers would eventually cut their costs by replacing their use of the
iSeries with spreadsheets, demanding that IT provide all data once a night
in a excel spreadsheet?

I need to determine who's using our AS400 resources (disk/time/users) by
user/department so that we can come up with some kind of departmental
allocation of IT costs.
 
I can put my users in groups to determine how many users on on the system by
department but otherwise?
 
Management wants this in TWO hours.  Gotta love that.
