the system is unfortunately already removed from the LAN. I only have a

Werner,

have you tried accessing the IFS from Windows Explorer, and simply 
deleting the directory tree?

I could of course be absolutely wrong...

Hi all,

because we have to return our old iSeries to IBM we need to cleanup the 
IFS
directories. We just use the DEL command with *.*. As every subdirectory 
has
to be cleared before it could be deleted it is a boring job to climb down
the directory trees.
Is there any method to delete (remove) directories with their contents by 
a
single command?
