End the speculation and get a copy of the programs. 

Two approaches here, the first is the "stroke his ego" approach.
Something like, "that's cool, can I get a copy, I'd like to use it
here". 

The second is the "I'm in charge" approach, something like "Now that I'm
in charge of this iSeries I'd like to know how you're rebooting it, send
me a copy!"

Either way your friend will know what the other site is doing.
