Don't know about newer twinax displays, but golden oldies like the 5251 had a switch that would display all the attributes on the screen, displayed them in tiny characters like fractions. ...Neil James Rich <james@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 2004/11/04 15:22 Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Re: Display file attributes On Thu, 4 Nov 2004, Douglas Handy wrote: > It seems to me that the system incorrectly optimizing out (or rather, > not inserting) a display attribute byte for the end of the MESG78 > field. I don't know if this is useful to you, but x5250 can be compiled to put an '@' on the screen everytime it encounters a display attribute. This way you could check to see if the attribute is there or not. To use it you need a *nix box (linux, *BSD, mac OS X, or even linux on an lpar) and tn5250. x5250 is at: http://www.chowhouse.com/~james/x5250/ Simply add -DDEBUG to your CFLAGS environment variable before running ./configure and @ will be placed in every attribute position.
