I've asked myself the same question, and not answered it yet. Should I just use an older PC and load it up with 500gb of storage and back up everything there? Then how do I back IT up? And reliability? And then do I get to the point of getting a SAN instead? How far do I take it? Oh, wait. It's just me here.
