There's an Java open source project that has classes for reading and writing directly to Excel files. Here's some links to articles about using the classes from RPG. http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/resources/artarchive/index.cfm?fuseaction=view article&CO_ContentID=17839&channel=art&PageView=Search There was another article in Sept. 16th's ClubTech newsletter...but I can't find it on-line. You might ask Scott Klement about it. Also these are more about writing Excel: http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc?1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@.6ae8269f http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc/1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@.6b16ef2b!more=1#more HTH, Charles > -----Original Message----- > From: Steve Dodkins [mailto:Steve.Dodkins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Friday, September 24, 2004 7:46 AM > To: 'midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx' > Subject: File transfer, amend via excel, upload amended file > > > Hi > > What is the best method of doing this (download/upload via > client access) > csv, text or .xls file ? > > > > > Regards > > Steve Dodkins > > > > -- > This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion > (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list > To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l > or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. >
