If you're open to a commercial option, our RPG2SQL Integrator product 
contains a whole subset of RPG2Excel functions for directly reading and 
writing to Excel spreadsheets. 

With RPG2SQL Integrator you can directly read and write to Excel 
spreadsheets from any iSeries program.
