Yes, logical files take up space. The amount generally depends on the key length. The ones that don't take up any additional space are the ones that share with an existing access path. But that existing access path (logical file) DOES take up space. ------------------------------------------ Speaking of logicals, does a logical take up actual space? I have this logical that I want to delete: 122198 PDPICKNN 227,577,856 0 040899 2 It shows a large Object-size. I asked the programmer who handles this system if I could delete. She said it is a logical, and doesn't take up any actual space. Yet is says that it does.
