My boss used to attend the consumer electronics show religiously.  So it's 
been going on awhile.  Perhaps it draws a different crowd?  People going 
to see the latest in stereo and other equipment may not gamble the same as 
computer geeks.

Still, the IBM tech conference rages on there...

Well, COMDEX has basically been replaced with consumer electronics show,
which is the first weekend in Jan 2005, and I can still get good rooms for
under $120/n for that weekend and if I tried I bet I could find good rooms
for under $80/n....and if I had planned ahead and booked in March, I could
have gotten a really sweet deal...:)

It's all in planning ahead...:)
