Yeah, the list IS huge. I usually search on "iSeries" rather than a product group or whatever. Then I find "Websphere development studio client" in the list. 17 or so downloads for the 5.1.1 version, which is one level back from current.

I don't know the real legalities here. Because you are getting back-level stuff, I'm not sure what matters. No one is checking, but that's not a reason to violate an agreement. I don't have any advice one way or the other.

So, it would seem using the evaluation software to develop
applications is a no no, and they make you pay $795/year
for access to discounted CD software and downloads.

I'm not saying using a PC editor evaluation version
wouldn't work... but would this apply?  And exactly what
product would I be looking for?  The software list is HUGE!
