H***************************************************************** H* PROGRAMMER -D. LELAND H* DATE WRITTEN-03/17/1998 H* USER DEPT - H* SYSTEM - H***************************************************************** H* NARRATIVE- H* THIS PROGRAM WILL SEND A MIME E-MAIL. H***************************************************************** H* MODIFICATIONS- H* 04/18/02-R.Berendt H* Changed *date to time into a date field, because H* EMLPDF print job runs for days and days. H* Added binding directory entry. H* 12/16/02-R.Berendt H* There was a problem on repeating calls that the value H* for CPFID was not being reset. I emailed the author, H* Dave Leland. He recommended RESETting APIError. H* After further consultation we decided to just clear H* the field CPFID. H* 02/20/04-R.Berendt H* Too many people were replying to POSTMASTER@xxxxxxxxx H* Therefore we added a descriptive name of H* 'Dekko: Please do NOT reply to this address' Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com rick.baird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 09/07/2004 10:13 AM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Fax to Subject Re: email body formatting attachments Rob, This isn't in my copy of the program. My copy could be WAY old (there's a 1998 date on it). I figured out how to do what I wanted to do, and can add something similar to the version I have. anyway, thanks for the heads up. Rick --------original message--------- Looking through some of the D specs in the program I noticed the following: D CRLF S 2A Inz(X'0D25') There's also a section of code that looks like: C*** Convert to newline or tab C Z-add 1 Y C Do MsgSize X C If X + 4 <= MsgSize and C (%Subst(Message:X:5) = '<EOL>' C Or %Subst(Message:X:5) = '<eol>') C Eval %Subst(WrkMsg:Y:2) = CRLF C Eval Y = Y + 2 C Eval X = X + 4 C Else C If X + 3 <= MsgSize and C (%Subst(Message:X:4) = '<NL>' C Or %Subst(Message:X:4) = '<nl>') C Eval %Subst(WrkMsg:Y:2) = CRLF C Eval Y = Y + 2 C Eval X = X + 3 C Else C If X + 4 <= MsgSize and C (%Subst(Message:X:5) = '<TAB>' C Or %Subst(Message:X:5) = '<tab>') C Eval %Subst(WrkMsg:Y:1) = X'05' C Eval Y = Y + 1 C Eval X = X + 4 Therefore, if your user types in SNDEMAIL MESSAGE('Line one<nl>Line two<nl>') and the rest of the parameters, it should format well.
