Mike, >From a programmers POV, Microsoft's software is top notch. For those who complain about MS copying the ideas of others there must be steam coming out of their ears when they learn about .NET. .NET is basically a better and more comprehensive Java. In .NET the class that is used in one language can be used in any other .NET language. That means modules written in C++ can be used without change in C# or an Excel spreadsheet. Very powerful . This new product from MS, since it is based on .NET, promises to make the as400 easier to access from a windows PC. -Steve -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of mshaw2456@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 4:10 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Microsoft Tries to Cozy Up to Mainframe, iSeries Users Yup, they had to have these services in their .NET framework and this is how they chose to accomplish this.
