Maybe I could save you some trouble.  I have a tool that
does what you are trying to do, plus a whole lot more.
 Very reasonably priced.  Check out MAILTOOL at
www.bvstools.com/mailtool.html.

I will be releasing a verision soon that will also not
require the use of MSF or the IBM SMTP server to send
emails.  

I believe the RFC that you're looking for for MIME is 822
IIR...  if you choose to do it the hard way.  I know it's
fun to do that sort of stuff!  :)
