If the 400 is directly connected to the net, or behind a
firewall that will let port 25 traffic out, you should just
remove the mail router from CHGSMTPA and things should work
slick.

I've tested many configurations of my new internal SMTP add
on for my MAILTOOL product and found there are usually
three scenarios:

1. AS/400 has direct connection to internet. No mail
router needed. But it can be used as a backup if one
exists.
2. AS/400 has indirect connection to internet but port 25
is blocked. Must use an mail router.
3. As/400 has noconnection to internet (but could if
configured <smile>), and a mail router must be used.

But, in this case they may simply be able to remove any
mail router configuration. That way the IBM SMTP server
_should_ connect to each of the recipient's mail routers
listed on their MX records, so there is no relaying through
a mail router.

You could test this with my MAILTOOL and MAILTOOL Plus!
applications. I'd be happy to give you trial keys to test
with, and if it does, then you could use SNDDST with
FIREWALL(*NO) and MAILROUTER(*NONE).
