Tangential. So you want to make a custom FTP client to access a server. And the benefits of this client will be that if your users are too stupid to type in 'ftp' from a DOS command line then they won't be able to see directories that are not authorized to? This is used as an additional security feature? If I am right, I still suggest fixing it on the server and not on the client. James, I hope I am not coming off crude, (especially after my last email) I am just trying to understand. In the QSYS file system, we have a different way to get a list of libraries the user can access, and so only those libraries show up in the GUI. But is there something I can set within an FTP session to hide such files and directories, or some simple, quickly executed command I can issue programmatically through an FTP connection, that would allow me to detect a lack of authority and suppress the obect from appearing in the list? -- JHHL -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
