They merged some time ago and I haven't had any trouble with their Tech
Support. We use their spool file save application.

Subject: Any MAIL MANager (Generic Software Inc.) users out there?

We're using MAIL MANager (Rel 2.50) and are having a problem when new users
are added to the system. User message queues are created with a default
*PUBLIC authority of *USE. When another user sends email to a new user with
this authority, MailMan chokes on this with CPF2408 / CPF2469 (Not
authorized to message queue USERNAME).

To get around this, we have been changing everyone's user MsgQ so that
*PUBLIC has *CHANGE authority. (Today was the first time I was made aware
of this.) Why does MM need this authority? I'm not comfortable with
someone being able to delete messages from my user message queue, which I
would imaging *CHANGE would allow.

I emailed Generic Software's tech support earlier today, and haven't had a
response. I see that they're merging with another company. Does anyone
know if support has suffered for it?

tia,
db
