Sounds really clear to me. ÂTried to see if they 'enhanced' that in
V5R3. ÂThe only enhancement that jumps out at me is they put the cume also
under WRKPTFGRP.

It's been a long time since I tilted with a windmill, so I
guess that's my best answer to what brought this up. ÂI just
filled out and submitted one of those "Request for Design
Change" forms and thought since it's the season for
campaigning, I'd see if there's any support for this issue.
Here's a "cut/paste" from the "Description of Request"
section.
The current information provided for Status on the âWork
with PTF Groupsâ display is only helpful on a stable
system. ÂI find it awkward to try to make sure to print the
information before ordering maintenance because as soon as I
order maintenance the status goes to âNot installedâ.
That really makes little or no sense to me, because merely
by ordering a new PTF Group I donât think I have done
anything to make my current production system change the
critical support information. Â(The way I look at it-- if I
have a problem and call Support Line, itâs much more
appropriate if I can do a GO PTF, Option 12 and hit
âEnterâ and tell them the Level I am currently running.
âNot installedâ isnât very helpful in that situation.)
Much more meaningful to me would be: (a) the date that the
current, active Group was installed; (b) a second set of
columns indicating the date and level of the âON ORDERâ
Group; (c) Âas I go through the maintenance procedures the
status information should let me know what the status
isâi.e., âWaiting IPLâ after I do the GO PTF and
select Option 8 and âNâ for Automatic IPL would be
meaningful. Â âBack in the old daysâ, didnât the
DSPDTAARA command include dates? ÂI forget.

Okay, I feel *much* better now!
