If you truly want something graphical, why not use iSeries Navigator? Try building a file in there and then linking it to another file. I think you're behind the times. You can use any number of ERD packages to define your schema, export it to the iSeries as SQL scripts and run the scripts to create it on the iSeries. Thus, there is simply nothing more for IBM to do. They are not going to add this to DDS, since the rest of the world is using SQL. Microsoft was only mentioned in the context of a cheap tool to use in place of an full-blown ERD package just to use to create/view the ERD diagram. I'd go with Visio myself if only for the ability to export the SQL scripts required to create the schema. > > The concepts of a schema have been around for a very long > time so all we have > got to do together is push IBM off of the "seat down the hall" > > Jack Derham > Direct Systems, Inc. > Marietta, GA -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
