<snip> May I suggest that you do the SAVDLO prior to the SAV. </snip> Why? The chances of needing any DLO documents in a full recovery are at best minimal now, and since there is a suggestion that Save While Active be used, the SAVDLO will cause an error message to be issued. The save order is of little consequence until a recovery is needed, then it could be critical In a recovery I need the critical objects first, so I want them as near to the front of the tape as I can get them. Jan: Why omit ProdData? There is critical information in those directories for a recovery. Omitting QUSRSYS also mystifies me. It's one of the most critical libraries on the system, and is part of the *ALLUSR save due to the amount of user data (read non - IBM) that resides in it. I can see not backing up performance data, it's not needed for recovery anyway, although you will at least need the as delivered libraries in order for some LPPs to work.
