I can't speak for LVT in particular, but I've seen all kinds of crazy behavior from Java applications when they don't have the exact JDK they were expecting. Do not think it is no big deal - I thought that once, too. Do not assume a new JDK/JRE is better than an older one. I think you should delete LVT and any hodgepodge of JDKs you may have accumulated, install only the JDK that ships with the LVT, reinstall LVT, and then see what you have. Also, not being familiar with that software, I don't know if this applies, but look in you Windows control panel for Java plug-in icons. There are settings in there that could make a difference if LVT uses a browser. For example, there is one that tells if that JRE will be used with a given browser. -Marty
