Correction: the function 21 is needed to bring up DST.
Sorry for this confusion.

Hello Chris,

I assume you are using V5 of OS/400, where the passwords for
DST-users are case-sensitive (!).
Defaults are: QSECOFR - QSECOFR, 22222222 - 22222222 (8x 2)

Now you are about to reclaim IOP cache storage:

inside DST menus select "work with disk units" ,
go to "Reclaim IOP storage" and follow that procedure
(there is online help available)
the system will do an IPL ...
display the disk warning report
and then you will need a second "Reclaim IOP storage"
when IPL was done from D, this is a normal procedure at
this stage.
There may be some warnings about lost disk sectors or so,
sometimes the ASP has to be cleared to go on.

There is a 15 minutes delay for the next IPL to complete,
so be patient.
If the system stops at A600 5082, you need to go to Function
12 on the front panel to get back to DST.
Do not shutdown the system !

Greets, Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Sorry that it took a while...
Not having any CD, I had to do a manual IPL from the D-side using the Systemsave on a QicTape.

I now have the "Install licenced Internal code" menu
and selected option 2 ( DST )

Here he asks for the DST user and password.
At the bottom of the screen there is the message :
"Cannot access user profiles - defaults are in effect"

Entering QSECOFR & 222222 gives "invalid password".

Any suggestions ?

Chris
