Hello Rob, I didn't know that tape color mattered :-) It's an LTO-2 200/400gb drive and came with a purple tape, but I think you can also use LTO-1 100/20gb cartridge as well. Do you know of any way to speed up backups on these babies and force them into streaming mode ? I am looking into UDFS (User Defined File System) usage to see if that might speed up backups of a large number of small objects, but IBM has very little documentation.
