The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

John, I don't understand. The O/S is still proprietary to the chipset.
It won't run on anything but a eServer platform... Ergo, it's still
proprietary....as is Windows...as is..... :)
You left off my last sentence ... "As long as the OS NAME is associated
with the hardware, we will not be perceived to be "open" by the computing
profession!!!"
I'm talking perception, not reality ... TOO many people PERCEIVE that Unix
and Windows are "open" simply because there is no connection between their
name and the name of the hardware that they run on ... unfortunately,
perception often becomes reality!!!!
As an ISV, I have to fight this battle daily ... and I know that XX% of my
industry-specific sales prospects refuse to consider my company's solutions
because they are AS/400 based (today). Just like X% of my prospects say
"it's .NET or the highway" ...
... but life goes on ...
