As others have said, don't do partitions. They are nothing like the 
relatively simple matter of creating separate pools.

Creating separate pools is recommended when you want to avoid contention 
for memory (results in swapping pages in and out too much). If your machine 
is big enough, you may see no problems.

What is the value of QCTLSBSD?. Even if it is QBASE, you should see 4 
pools, *MACHINE, *BASE, *INTERACT, & *SPOOL.

A good healthy nap over the Work Management manual is highly recommended.

One of the reasons for separate pools - communications recovery - is not so 
much of an issue anymore, IIRC.
