I think you are spot on. I will do a little research to see if there are any negative ramifications, (other than WRKNAMSMTP which we never use), and then I'll run with this. Looks like if I want to mess with this SMTP name using either ADDDIRE or CHGDIRE I need to run CVTNAMSMTP anyway. http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/0/450c9dae84e13177862566cd0066a45c?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=1 Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com Wayne McAlpine <wmcalpine@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 04/15/2004 09:54 AM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc Subject Re: Retrieving a directory entry We did run the CVTNAMSMTP command when we set this system up several years ago. This is a non-reversible command that adds SMTP names to the system distribution directory so they can be maintained using the WRKDIRE command. Once this command has been run, the WRKNAMSMTP command no longer can be used. I suspect that the SMTP names will not appear in the DSPDIRE output file unless the convertsion has been made.
