Because I support clients who use our software, some of whom drag their feet on upgrading until IBM drops support. "Hey, will you upgrade to v5r2 so I can use DOUNTIL in CL?" <LOL> You're right, if the time between v5r3 GA and the date v5r1 support ends is short, then it doesn't make sense. But doesn't IBM usually give a LOT of notice when they are going to drop support of a version/release?
