The first question that pops into my mind about this is, "does the vendor actually need 'live' (or even 'neutered live') data, and/or as many records as the real file has, or does the vendor just need the file structure, with just enough sample records to duplicate some problem? When I've asked for sample files to duplicate some problem that was breaking QuestView, I've always specifically asked customers NOT to send "live" data, or anything beyond the minimum sample data needed to duplicate the problem reliably. -- James H.
