Murali,

Based on the responses thus far, you can probably see that a "direct
conversion" to Access is NOT possible. However, several good techniques
have been recommended. I think there was an earlier article reference or
post about using cpytoimpf then importing to Access. There are plenty of
references to those techniques.

Depending upon your Java skills, there was a relatively recent post about an
Open Source project called OS400Bridge (you'll find it on sourceforge.net
(very cool)). With bit of tweaking, you could modify the example to write
directly to the Access database with no need for creating a file in the IFS,
FTP'ing and then converting.

All viable solutions providing you have the skills to apply them.

Subject: format 'prn' to ACCESS

Dear all,

Iam sending a file to downstreams by FTP with
following cmd.
PUT qs36f/ysmam001.ysmam001 am001.$DATE$.prn
(as per earlier request by Downstreams 'prn' format
was mentioned since it accomodates certain
requirments.)

Now they want the information into ACCESS.

is it be possible to send the file in an Access
Database format instead? and how?

Thank you for your help in adv,
Thank you for your patience,
Murali.
