I wouldn't use SAV to save things in /QDLS or /QSYS.LIB and expect to be able to IPL and do a full system restore from tape. I do have a tendency to use IFS commands on objects in libraries though. For example CHGOBJOWN can only process one object at a time but CHGOWN '/QSYS.LIB/MYLIB.LIB/*' NEWOWN(newown) kicks a$$. I've gotten so used to this that I always use the ifs commands, if one's available.
