Actually, the last time I had to code a set of EBCDIC/ASCII translation tables, it was client-side Java, back before there WERE Toolbox classes, when you had to do EVERYTHING from scratch. In code actually running on AS/400s, at least where EBCDIC/ASCII translations were involved, I had some other proverbial giant's shoulders to stand upon. -- James H. H.
