Unfortunately, UNIX originally only had 3 times "ctime" "mtime" and
"atime": change time, modify time, and access time.  Thus, many
Unix-type file systems don't even record the creation time.  Because of
this, the standard "ls" command, which works for everything else, won't
work here.

Vern points out that the attr command works on V5R2 and above.

Walden points to the Windows dir command, which does include a few nice
things, one of which is the creation time.  It doesn't have all of the
capabilities of "ls" (not to mention the fact that Windows has no "grep"
command either), but for Windows it's not bad.
