Observability should not make any difference in going from V3R7 to V5R2. We ship QuestView in non-observable form, as either a V2R3-compatible save (from its development box) or a V3R7-compatible save (re-encapsulated [on restore] on, then saved from, our V4R2 development box), and have never received a single complaint of incompatibility (except for maybe a few people trying to use the wrong save file [or the wrong SEQNBR on a tape] for their target machine). -- James H.
