Apologies to Mark and to Softlanding if my reply gave a poor impression of Softlanding's product or pricing. At the time we evaluated all the packages, Softlanding's offering was quite a bit more than the others. Now this may have been because we could pare down the features of the other products and could not do the same with Softlanding or it may have been just the competitor's willingness to undercut others' prices or perhaps some other reason I cannot recall. My reply reflects only my experience and that experience was several years ago. I'd encourage anyone looking in to making an investment in CM software to take the recommendations from this group and perform your own evaluations to come to your own conclusions. TurnOver (SoftLanding's product) is not nearly double the cost of the other products. I actually believe that we are the least expensive of the three mentioned, but I am not initimately familiar with everyone's price lists either. I do believe, however, that if you were to compare the List price of each of the three products they would all be within 10% of each other, probably closer to 5%. We reviewed all the major players at the time: Silvon, Aldon, Softlanding, perhaps some others I cannot remember. The basic outcome was that Softlanding was, by far, the superior product when comparing features and fuctions, but was also nearly double the cost of the others. I believe our second choice, just based on features and function was Silvon's product. I do have proctical experience with Softlanding and Silvon and would choose Softlanding based on that experience as well. As it turned out, we did not purchase anything as the AS400 group was absorbed in to an SAP implementation, but that's a story for another day.... This was a couple years ago, so I'm sure the features of each have changed, but that's my experience.
