Problem with renaming or moving an object is pointers. Quite often the host
servers will keep the resolved object. By deleting it, you force the host
servers to re-create a new object. I have a development box at V5R1 and
followed the instructions and have seen no ill effect. Once I opened ops
nav and selected that system, it magically re-appeared. Should work.

Perhaps instead of deleting the object you could just rename it, or move it
to another library?

About six months ago, Jan Rockstedt reported having a problem just like I am
now. It was an upgrade to V5R2 and everything seemed to work except iSeries
Navigator, which gave the CWBSYS1008 error. All the recommended (by iSeries
Navigator Help) steps were taken then as I have now, but nothing worked. The
original poster said a call to IBM produced the following solution:

endhostsvr *all
dltobj QUSRSYS/QYSMSVRE
strhostsvr *all
