The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

What belongs in qsyslibl? I believe just IBM system stuff.
Minimum: QSYS
QSYS2
QHLPSYS
QUSRSYS
plus one site specific library at the top containing overrides for IBM
commands and other things that affect the SYSTEM. Also possibly a
language library although they are better handled by the SYSLIBLE
keyword on a subsystem description. May also include 3rd-party
libraries that provide 'system-like' functions but I'd avoid that if
possible.
What belongs in qusrlibl? I believe utilities, global app stuff, etc.
Minimum: QTEMP
QGPL
plus one or more utility libraries and any library needed by most
users. Note: QTEMP and QGPL do not belong in QSYSLIBL--they are user
libraries. (Even though many sites do put these in QSYSLIBL to free up
2 slots in the user portion of the library list.)
What belongs in jobd libl? Jobd specific.
Job descriptions are usually created for specific jobs therefore they
should either inherit from *SYSVAL or have QTEMP, QGPL, plus job
specific libraries.
What belongs in app specific libl? App specific.
There isn't such a thing unless you build your own 'library-list'
objects. But yes, application specific libraries. These can be set via
job descriptions, from some external source such as a data area or
file, or via an application initial program.

Simon Coulter.
