RE: how we will program in the future

Rob,

Do you ascribe this to a change in focus on quality on IBM's part, or is
this just an effect of porting software to the box from lesser environments?
Microsoft has forever changed the way people look at computer problems, to
the point where even IT professionals believe that a reboot is an acceptable
way to "fix" a problem.  Is this same mentality taking over our beloved box?
It's clear that attitudes have changed....

No virus.  But have received a lot of advice from IBM lately to either 
reboot, or restart something which is just as bad.

And how many iSeries customers got a virus on their iSeries system and had
to pay for virus protection, download the latest update, go to every 
desktop
and run a fix and reboot the "Server" 2 or 3 times?

(corruption/lost data). I wonder if they did it with their "new
