Checked the case:
WRKSRVTBLE
Service Port Protocol
as-sts 3000 tcp

CFGTCP
12. Change TCP/IP domain information
Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'GDIHQ'
Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'dekko-1'
10. Work with TCP/IP host table entries
Internet Host
Address Name
10.10.1.211 GDIHQ
                 GDIHQ.GDI1.SNA.IBM.COM
                 QGDIHQ
                 GDIHQ.DEKKO-1
I just changed it to:
10.10.1.211 GDIHQ
                 GDIHQ.GDI1.SNA.IBM.COM
                 QGDIHQ
                 GDIHQ.dekko-1
But have not recycled TCP/IP. Since that didn't seem to do squat on our
test iSeries I was loathe to kick everyone off to do this, when testing
shows a low probability of success.

RE: WRKSRVTBLE vs NETSTAT

IIRC the as-sts is case sensitive, verify that it was entered in lower
case.
There also is an alias parameter - ALIAS('AS-STS') that needs to be in
upper
case. I'm pretty sure that this whole mess was added in V5R1.

If you make a change to the service table entries you will have to
ENDTCP/STRTCP before it will take effect.

You also need to have the fully qualified domain name entered in the local
host table. If this is all you're missing you may not have to recycle
TCP.

subject: WRKSRVTBLE vs NETSTAT

To perform a certain iSeries Navigator function I need a certain
WRKSRVTBLE entry:
Service Port Protocol
as-sts 3000 tcp

I have this entry. However it doesn't show up on NETSTAT OPTION(*CNN)

How do I determine why not? We have used this iSeries Navigator function
before so the odds are slim to none that this was just recently added. In

theory an ENDTCP/STRTCP should reactivate this. However with several
hundred users - this is the same as an IPL.
