Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

When given such advice it's always best to test with SELECT before you run
the UPDATE.

For example, try

select Substr('(100+ blanks)',1, 100-length(trim(MyField))
)||trim(MyField)
from MyTable

first, before attempting the update.

RE: Changing justification in a DB field

Of course!

MyTable, MyField=char(100)

Update MyTable
Set MyField=
                 Substr('(100+ blanks)',1, 100-length(trim(MyField))
)||trim(MyField)

Adjust the 100's to whatever length you have.
