Well, Al... I hate ta-say, but I took the dare and found the info (I think,
didn't have my glasses on...;-).

Took a minute-15 to display the IC homepage, and about 30 - 45 seconds to
display #4 Chapter 9 Defining Commands, then it was pretty quick work. But
a greying geezer like me (even with a head of hair...;-) can fall asleep or
forget what I was intending to search for in THAT amount of time...! <g>

Btw, George, have any luck searching IC for why you'd get an field selection
error on an update to SFL...? (Dare ya...;-) IC still seems a little hit
or miss, to me.. but mebbe wasn't searching for right terms? Do they still
offer IC on CD, then?

| OK I took the dare: "For example, both the API finder and the System Value
| finder are just
| excellent, but try finding out information about a "prompt override
| program" for a *CMD object, I dare you."
|
| Using a PC with the InfoCenter updated as of last Wednesday, I found the
| point in the PARM of a command definition -- and a reference to the CL
| Programming PDF book in the supplemental manuals. Repeated same search in
| PDF book and found how to write a prompt override program.
|
| Booth's comments are on target. It did take a while to get the
| info center
| "there". Maybe I can say hasta la bye-bye to the bookmanager books.... And
| second Booths "thanks" to the folks working diligently on this.
| Didn't Fred
| Brooks ("The Mythical Man Month) comment that "documentation the
| caster oil
| of programming"?
