If this move is for the money, It appears to be penny wise and dollar
stupid.

Potential losses of up time and the cost of programming are staggering to
think of...

Also I don't think software support is available for the older OS V3R7.

If you complete and miss the bullet stepping down,  Who are you going to
call for Software support down the road....

Overall in our shop we are looking to upgrading our 820 and software because
its cheaper to go this way and we have support from IBM,  JD Edwards, other
vendors.

Our Maintenance for hardware and software are greatly reduced.  Newer is a
LOT cheaper for us...

With V3R7 I don't think you can call and get support from IBM at any
price.....
