It's submitting a new job. Activation groups are scoped within jobs, if I'm not mistaken. Why not have the submitted CL place the lock on the file? Thanks, Mark Mark D. This CL does and Excluvsive lock on a file and then submits a 2nd CL. This Second Cl will not run, because of the lock. I have tried putting both Cl's in the same named activation group. I have tried putting the 2nd CL in *Caller and the First in the default activation group. Is this likely an activation group problem? Can someone enlighten me. I've tried looking at the archives, but i haven't found an answer yet.
