<snip> this is just fascinating. When I was at linuxworld at Javitts last Jan/Feb, IBM was telling the folks in the expo NOT to use linux on iSeries, but to use zSeries instead....they didn't think the iSeries linux implementation was good enough... </snip> There are many constituencies inside IBM that are as loyal to the architecture they work on as we are to OS/400 and the iSeries. The iSeries implementation of Linux ( I have done it several times, and am Certified by IBM as Systems Expert, iSeries LPAR technical Solutions and iSeries Linux Technical Solutions) is every bit as robust and in several cases superior to the zSeries or pSeries implementation. Remember the "i" stands for integrated. The other implementations require hardware etc, iSeries does not. Just some memory, processor and a little network storage area to put it up. In short, iSeries rules.......!!!!!!!!!! Jim Oberholtzer Senior Solutions Architect Computech Resources, Inc. Phone: 262/785-8111 Cell: 414/416-0840 Fax: 262/785-8107
